Major Declaration

The Department of Political Science offers programs devoted to the study of how people create, use, and challenge power (Political Science), how to articulate and join projects of responsible collective action to respond to today’s borderless challenges (Global Affairs), and how to design and evaluate policy to address social problems and create positive change in your community (Social and Policy Analysis).

Before signing major declaration forms, make sure you understand what the Political Science, Social and Policy Analysis, and Global Affairs majors have to offer, how they fit with your academic and career goals, what their requirements are, and how you can successfully meet those requirements. You have two options for doing this:

  1. You can attend one of our Major Declaration Events (dates/times will be shared on Social Sciences listserve, through the OAA listserve, in courses, or you can contact the major advisor for details).
  2. You can schedule a meeting with each program's major advisor.
